Ayman Zewada

Ayman Zewada is an undergraduate Psychology student at Te Herenga Waka, Victoria University of Wellington. He is passionate about supporting the wellbeing of young people and underrepresented communities. He’s been deeply involved in the Aotearoa Muslim community since his early years, leading prayers as a Taraweeh Imam at five different masjids, teaching Quran for over 5 years, and serving on the boards of youth organisations like the National Islamic Youth Association, Wellington Muslim Youth, and VicMuslims MSA.

Alongside his studies, Ayman works across several community spaces, for a variety of local organisations,
including refugee and migrant support, intellectual disability services, and youth mental health. With a strong focus on culturally grounded care, he’s driven by the belief that meaningful change starts in the community, and that mental health support should reflect the diverse realities of the people it serves.
