Dr Ayşe Mahinur Tezcan


Dr. Ayşe Mahinur Tezcan is a Lecturer at Istanbul University, Türkiye. She received her PhD in Sociology from the same institution. Her academic research primarily focuses on migration, cultural capital, crime and deviance, suicide, and Islamophobia. In recent years, she has expanded her work to include the sociological dimensions of crime in the context of natural disasters, with a particular focus on post-earthquake environments in Türkiye.
She is currently working on a study exploring the lived experiences of Islamophobia among Muslims residing in New Zealand. This ongoing research aims to shed light on the intersection of religion, identity, and social exclusion in multicultural societies.
